BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

A little preparation helps us make the most of your visit

Before your first appointment, we may ask you to complete a few simple steps. This helps us understand your needs and ensures we can focus entirely on your care when you arrive.

Questions before arriving? Call our reception on (441) 533-2508

Step 01STEP ONLINE

Complete your new patient form

Submitting your form online in advance helps your podiatrist review your background before you arrive.

Step 02

Bring your insurance information

Bring details of your current medical insurance card or policy information so our team can verify the details they need.

Step 03

Bring or wear relevant footwear

If your issue relates to walking, sport, exercise or recurring pain, bring the shoes you regularly wear so your podiatrist can inspect wear patterns and biomechanics.

Step 04

Think about your symptoms

It helps to note when the problem started, what activities trigger discomfort, whether it is getting better or worse, and what previous treatments you have tried.

From Consultation to Treatment

What to Expect at Your First Podiatry Visit

Your first appointment starts with a conversation.

Your podiatrist will ask about the reason for your visit, your symptoms and any relevant medical or foot-health history. The exact assessment will depend on why you have come to see us.

1Discuss your concerns and foot-health goals
2Review relevant medical history, medications and previous foot problems
3Examine your feet and lower limbs where appropriate
4Assess footwear, walking or movement where relevant
5Explain what may be contributing to the problem
6Discuss your treatment options and recommended next steps
7Begin appropriate treatment where suitable

Your Assessment

Your appointment is tailored to the reason you're visiting

Every appointment is individual. Depending on your symptoms and goals, your podiatrist will focus on the areas that matter most to your mobility and comfort.

01

Foot & nail health

Your podiatrist may assess concerns such as thickened or fungal nails, corns, calluses, verrucae, ingrown nails or routine foot-care needs.

02

Pain & movement

For heel pain, exercise-related pain or walking problems, your assessment may include your foot and lower-limb function, movement, footwear and biomechanics.

03

Diabetic foot health

Diabetic foot assessments may include skin, circulation, sensation, pressure areas and other factors that help identify and reduce foot-health risks.

04

Sports & activity

For sports-related symptoms, your podiatrist may assess how your feet and lower limbs are functioning and discuss footwear, rehabilitation or other treatment options.

Your Treatment Plan

Treatment may begin at your first appointment

Depending on your condition, appropriate treatment may be carried out during your appointment so you experience relief without delay.

Where further investigation, a treatment course or specialist treatment is recommended, your podiatrist will explain the next steps clearly.
