Matthew Francis
Clinical Director / Managing Podiatrist
Matthew is Atlantic Podiatry’s Clinical Director and Managing Podiatrist, with more than a decade of experience practising in Bermuda and a particular interest in diabetic foot care, wound management and evidence-based treatment.
Graduating top of his class from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Matthew has been practicing in Bermuda for over a decade.
During his time in Scotland, Matthew worked across several hospital and clinic settings, specializing in high-risk diabetic care and wound management facilities. While there, he co-authored regional care strategies to improve clinical treatment protocols and patient outcomes.
As part of his ongoing commitment to professional development, Matthew completed a Master’s degree in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair at Cardiff University's Faculty of Medicine.
Building upon his extensive knowledge of wound care management and evidence-based medicine, Matthew has published several research papers focusing on Bermuda's healthcare ecosystem and health-cost saving frameworks. His goal is to continually advance the wound care facilities and standards of treatment available to patients across Bermuda.
Outside of Podiatry, Matthew is Bermuda’s most highly awarded mixologist and former co-owner of The Blind Pig Cocktail Co. He is also involved in Moongate Brewing Co in St. George’s.
